RE: which would you get?

Well we have seen some ugly, unpleasant looking decors in all brands we have looked at,I think the decorators must be color blind,or just don't care.

RE: which would you get?

Take time and go and see one made at each place. This will let you make up your mind. I have the living room up front I like it there for it set up so you can see. DO not get a rear dinning room. WIfe and I both had to laugh and say "yeah right" over this one!! We don't have a manufacturer of any in our state,so too far to go to do this, its not like they would all be in one area or state. We did go to the plant in Winchester,Va to see how the Artic Fox was made. It would be a good idea but not something we can do,thats why we are asking questions on here. I only remember seeing one that the living room was up front, most are in the rear and no we would definitely not consider anything with a rear kitchen. Thanks for you input.

RE: which would you get?

I also got another problem it is how much difference to pay on a trade ? The NADA book list my low retail at just under $18,000 and I am looking at fivers in the $60-$70 k range. A Jayco dealer wanted $32,000 on a $60,000 Designer they had reduced it to $44,000, as it was a 09. The wife did not like the kitchen on this one, so that was it no mater how good the deal. Car & truck trading much easier and it is also easier finding what we want.

RE: which would you get?

Excel wasn't on your list, but ours has been acceptably trouble-free. The warranty was two years; we've lived in it 3.5 years now. Fridge, furnace, a/c, water heater - failures. We did have a minor issue with some hose instead of pex being used on the kitchen faucet with pex fittings; they leaked. Mom wanted a new faucet anyway, so in it went with pex, this time. Excel makes their own frames, and they also have no history of frame failure. Like the NuWa, they are wood. Some think that is a backwards building material, but we can make phone calls from inside while in many areas, the aluminum sidewall guys are outside standing on their picnic tables! Sluggo I did not memtion Excel because they are heavy and I have a Chevy 2500 Duramax I got a dealer telling my I can tow a 38 ft Big Horn and it looks like it will be 1000 lbs over load on my truck. The pin weight is not much more than what I am now towing.

RE: which would you get?

Can I ask why you are not considering another Fox? Mike The one we have was made in Winchester,Va,that plant has closed and no nearby dealers. They no longer make the size we now have either and wouldn't consider going smaller than what we have.

which would you get?

If you were buying a new fifth wheel and the choices were NUWA, Jayco, Carriage and Heartland. Which would you buy. The prices are very close at what we looking at.

RE: Will this vehicle save Chrysler

I don't care what Chrysler does. I will not buy anything again from them. Our last was a 1990 Le-baron with many problems and a smart mouth service manager. It was almost two years old when the transmission went out. When I got it back I traded it in two weeks. Tom

RE: Big Horn Heartland anybody got one and how do you like it?

We have over 40K miles on our Arctic Fox with the Lippert Frame. I never had any problems with the frame but the Arctic Fox is another story. I am starting to get small cracks in the jelcoat, but it has had some bad roads in the six years we had it. Most of my problems were quality control at the factory when built. It has been back to factory three times. Northwood is great at repair and service but I did not like the three hundred miles one way each time taking it back. Tom

RE: Big Horn Heartland anybody got one and how do you like it?

We have a Lippert Frame on our Arctic Fox and had no trouble but I have seen a lot of problems on this and RV net. Some had pictures of bad welds and not much support from Lippert. Tom

RE: Big Horn Heartland anybody got one and how do you like it?

I have been looking at Cameo, Hitchhiker LS and Jayco Designer and I like the Bighhorn floor plan better than the Designer we looked at in Asheville, NC a couple weeks ago. I just got a price from the dealer and we a long way apart. I probably going to wait until we go to Florida in Jan. and look at the Hitchhiker and Cameo. Tom

RE: Big Horn Heartland anybody got one and how do you like it?

Thanks we are now in Myrtle Beach and just toured one we did like the interior, just wondering about the construction. We were wondering how they'd hold up after several years and a lot of miles.

Big Horn Heartland anybody got one and how do you like it?

We just looked at a Big Horn and like the floor plan but not too sure about the construction. We do a lot of towing and not sure how this rig will hold up. They use a OSB instead of plywood with foam between the layers. Not sure how good this is. It also has a Lippert frame and have read a lot of problems with this frame. Tom

RE: Got to have the best Chili Recipe ever created....

If you are going to compete it should be YOUR recipe, not someone elses!!! If you don't have a tried and true recipe of your own, then why are you even entering? Editing to add:I would be very upset for someone to win a competition using my recipe and they get the credit and prize for it! :R

RE: Buying new RV - Trade-in old RV or Sell Seperately?

Our first rv was a travel trailer we got new on ebay,it was our "starter home on wheels" We used it one year and when we traded it on our current 5th wheel they actually gave us in trade the amount we paid for it new. They didn't even bother to look it over either. We are currently looking for a new 5th wheel and plan to trade this one in also.

RE: What can I do with a cooked pork tenderloin?

Take the uncooked pork and slice it into medalions about 1/2 thick and layer into cast iron pot between whole slices of onion sliced 1/2 thick, salt and pepper to taste and cook until the potatoes are done..add a can of celery soup and let it rest about 10 minutes, then serve...this also works well with pork chops....left overs are wonderful the next day, if any left over....Jim Well as in OP its already cooked, guess I could do all the rest then add the sliced cooked pork long enough to just heat it,guess this would work as well with cream of mushroom soup(alway have that on hand).thanks

RE: What can I do with a cooked pork tenderloin?

get some potatoes and slice them up and fry them up with some onions and garlic dice up the pork and put in with the potatoes to heat it back up also you could add some tomatoes and green peppers and then fry an egg or two and place on top and have it for breakfast as a skillet Yummy, this sounds really good too-now to decide just which way to go!

RE: What can I do with a cooked pork tenderloin?

Pork fried rice. Buy the fried rice seasoning in the asian section of your local grocery store and follow the directions on the package. It's one of our favorite "leftover" meals. Ahhh, now this is something I'd really like!

RE: What can I do with a cooked pork tenderloin?

Thanks, but its already cooked, will try to remember the rub/seasonings for next time. I just need to know what to do to make the leftovers in the freezer taste better than the original dish!
